The ENERGY STAR for Homes Version 3 guidelines are being phased in throughout 2011. Verification partners, including HERS Raters and Field Inspectors, must complete ENERGY STAR Version 3 Rater Training through a RESNET Accredited Training Provider such as EnergyLogic.

Effective January 1, 2012, new raters must take this training to become partners.

As a RESNET Nationally Accredited Training, HERS, & HESP Provider, EnergyLogic Academy brings extensive experience as a trainer, rater, and respected partner of ENERGY STAR.

Please note that this course is intended for Verification Partners (HERS Raters and Field Inspectors) wanting to work in the ENERGY STAR New Homes program in 2012. If you are not an EnergyLogic Rater Partner, please be prepared to show proof of certification (either HERS Rater or Field Inspector). We will not be able to issue you a certification of completion for this course without proof of certification.

• All courses have been approved for 18 hours of RESNET Professional Development credit; and 5 CEUs for BPI BAs.
• Live courses can be arranged if you have a group of people interested in the training.  It will have the benefit of access to our online content in addition to live instruction.

Live Training

Description: This training covers the new requirements of ENERGY STAR for New Homes version 3 program. Detailed presentations are given on ENERGY STAR v3, thermal enclosure rater checklist, HVAC quality installation rater checklist, water management builder checklist, and problem solving for the HERS rater. At the conclusion of the training you will need to find an approved testing proctor and schedule a test with EnergyLogic. Then, you will be issued a certificate of completion with a passing grade of 80% or greater on the exam. EnergyLogic will maintain your records and notify ENERGY STAR of your successful completion. The learning management system will remain open to you for six months upon completion. Online training (online)

Cost: $325
Proctored Exam:You will need to coordinate a test with a local testing proctor. Typically colleges and libraries provide this service. You, the proctor, and EnergyLogic will need to coordinate the test process. The 3rd party proctor may or may not charge a fee to proctor the test.
